PRE-SCHOOL CHILD ALLEGEDLY KIDNAPPED BY A‘MAMA’

The headmistress of the pre-school had no reason to suspect the person whom the child called ‘mama’ and permitted him to take the child away

A three-and-a-half-yearold girl attending a preschool at Mundalama has been kidnapped allegedly by a close relative on Wednesday afternoon (22). The headmistress of the preschool stated to police that a person who came on a motorcycle told her that he wanted to take the child home as an urgent issue had emerged. She said she had no reason to suspect the person whom the child called ‘mama’ and that she permitted him to take the child. The victim Suwasthika Sarathchandra was a resident of No.1, Puttalam Road, Mudalama.
